Prof Bugnion joined EPFL in 2012 with an interest in Data Center Systems, after an 18 year career in the US.   From 2017 to 2020, he served as Vice-President of EPFL for Information Systems.   From 2020 until March 2022, he served in the Swiss Independent COVID-19 Science Task Force.

Prof. Bugnion is a member of the Assembly fo the ICRC, serves on the Board of Logitech, and of InnoSuisse (the Swiss Innovation Agency).
