Dr Shemra Rizzo is an experienced data scientist in Genentech’s Personalised Healthcare group. In her current role, Shemra is leading research on COVID-19 using electronic health records data, and a team that focuses on developing novel data-driven approaches to evaluate clinical trial eligibility criteria. Previously, Shemra was Assistant Professor of Statistics at the University of California Riverside, where her research covered topics including mental health, health disparities, and nutrition. Shemra obtained her PhD in Biostatistics from the University of California Los Angeles in 2015.
