Thomas Zaugg is Head of Open Innovation & External Networks at Roche Diagnostics where he is responsible for partnering with Universities & Startups,  upskilling employees with Digital & Data Academy and connecting as Technology Leader (e.g. Robotics) and active Data Scientist (EPFL) in different digital & business collaborations. 
Thomas has a background as Electronic/Informatics Engineer, Chemist/Chemical Engineer, International MBA, PMP, Management Board Education and is a Senior Manager with P&L responsibility and international Business Experience.
Thomas has more than 25 years experience mainly in MedTech / Life Science and combines many business topics & technologies like: e-Business, Robotic, AI/Machine Learning, IT-Security, Software for Medical Devices (IEC 62304), Predictive Processing & Maintenance, Process Mining. Deep & Machine Learning (Tensorflow, SVM, Neuronal Networks/CNN, Time Series/LSTM, Classification/Random Forest/XGBoostClassifier, Text/NLP, Unbalanced Data/Classifier/LSTM in Python). Thomas is very interested in new ML Approaches like:Auto ML or Physics-informed ML.
