Dr. Uma Rani is Senior Economist at the Research Department and joined the International Labour Organization (ILO) in 2008. Her current research focuses on  digital platforms, wherein she explores the business model and how labour and social institutions interact with public policies and shape the patterns of economic and social inequality. She has recently published and co-authored a report on Digital labour platforms and the future of work: Towards decent work in the online world.
