Rendani Mbuvha is a Google DeepMind Academic Fellow in Machine Learning at the Queen Mary University of London and an Associate Professor in Actuarial Science at the University of Witwatersrand. He received his PhD from the University of Johannesburg in 2021, where his research focused on Bayesian Neural Networks for renewable energy forecasting. He is a fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries (UK), Actuarial Society of South Africa (ASSA) and a holder of the Chartered Enterprise Risk Actuary designation.
Rendani's research interests lie in the intersection of machine learning, statistics, and actuarial science. He is particularly interested in the development of Bayesian machine learning methods for applications in risk management, finance, and healthcare.
