Kevin Schawinski leads the black hole and galaxy astrophysics group at ETH Zurich, where he works on the formation and evolution of galaxies and their supermassive black holes. Prior to joining ETH Zurich, he was a NASA Einstein Fellow at Yale University and the Henry Skynner Junior Research Fellow at Balliol College Oxford. He holds a D.Phil in Astrophysics from Oxford University, and in between working on machine learning applications in astrophysics, spends time at telescopes in Chile and Hawaii. He is also the co-founded of the Galaxy Zoo citizen science project.
