Angelos Selviaridis is currently Energy Systems Engineer at the Technology Management department of EKZ, the electric utility company of the canton of Zurich. His role focuses on the integration of renewable energy in today’s and tomorrow’s energy systems. His main areas of expertise are sector coupling (the coupling of electricity, heat and mobility), energy storage and efficient energy management. He is currently using statistics and machine learning techniques for the generation of synthetic load profiles, which are to be used for the assessment of strategic grid planning scenarios. Angelos has a background in mechanical engineering and holds a Master’s Degree in Energy Management and Sustainability from EPFL.
