Gianni Barlacchi is a Machine Learning Scientist in Amazon Alexa, working on deep learning for natural language processing. He obtained his PhD in Computer Science (cum Laude) from the University of Trento (Italy), with a thesis on machine learning models for natural language processing and urban computing, involving topics like human mobility and land use classification through semantic data. During his PhD, Gianni has been visiting researcher at Telefonica Research (Barcelona, Spain), IBM Research (Dublin, Ireland), Amazon Alexa (Seattle, US) and MIT Media Lab (Boston, US).
