Portrait image of Humera Tariq

Humera Tariq is a professor of computer science at the University of Karachi, Pakistan. She received her Ph. D in computer science for her dissertation on “ Region growing approach for segmentation of Brain MR Images” in 2015. She also holds a B.E degree in Electrical Engineering from NED University, Pakistan. Most of her research centers around medical image processing, pattern recognition, high-performance computing, and techniques for decision making and data mining. Applications of her research include the development of image and video processing algorithms, games, and simulation. She is an active NVIDIA DLI University Ambassador since 2019 and conducts various workshops on deep learning at both national and international forums.
