Pierre is leading the Big Data Analytics project of the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission.  He is also responsible for the JRC Big Data Platform (JEODPP),  a versatile multi-petabyte scale platform focusing on geospatial data and any data associated with a location.  The scope of the platform is  to ease the transformation of big data streams into policy relevant information.  In this context, AI is playing an increasing role while posing a series of new challenges.
