I am a journalist and campaigner working for Dutch NGO's. Since 2009 I have covered topics as the Dutch Passport Law (biometric identification), the Dutch Elektronisch Patiëntendossier (Digital Health Record), the functioning of our national privacy watchdog and several other topics involving privacy-infringing laws and policies introduced by the Dutch government.
My latest and current project is the campaign 'Bij Voorbaat Verdacht' ('Suspected in Advance'), an informative campaign that aims to lift the lid and raise consciousness on risk profiling carried out by the Ministry of Social Affairs. The campaign is set up to support the court challenge against the Systeem Risico Indicatie (System Risk Indication), a profiling system the Dutch government has been using for several years to detect fraud, improper uses of public resources and other sorts of illegal conducts.
