Portrait image of Sebastian Herold

Having a background in control systems engineering, Sebastian spent a lot of time with modeling mechanical, chemical, and biological processes based on deterministic physical laws. As a PhD student, he developed an algorithm to automatically generate model candidates for cultivations of micro-organisms in a bioreactor. Given the plethora of possible model candidates, the identification, tracking, and right selection of models were important tasks in the overall process.

In September 2017, Sebastian joined Data Reply as a consultant in data science where he is working on different projects in various industrial sectors, supervising the whole lifecycle from PoC work to productionalization.
