This talk will focus on the use of social media in recruitment, more specifically on the utility of using information about job candidates by exploiting social media like LinkedIn, Facebook etc. It will show what we know from current research regarding the validity of the information that algorithms (or recruiters) gather from social media, i.e., to what extent it truly reflects people’s competencies and personality, and whether it is better than traditional measures of competencies and personality used in recruitment.
