Achim is Senior Data Scientist at the Public Policy Group, ETH Zurich, and the Immigration Policy Lab (ETH/Stanford). Previously, he worked as a Post-Doc at the Economic and Social Research Institute, Dublin. He holds an MSc in Economics from University of Edinburgh and a PhD in Economics from Heriot-Watt University. He has worked on empirical projects in a wide range of fields including housing markets, urban economics and energy economics. His PhD thesis combined machine learning and spatial econometrics; both from an applied and theoretical perspective. He has a strong interest in applied econometrics, causal inference and machine learning.
