Alex is a lead data scientist at Lufthansa's heart of AI at zeroG and holds a PhD in computer science and artificial intelligence from the University of Lübeck, an MSc degree in computational engineering from the Hamburg University of Technology and a BEng degree in information- and electrical engineering from the Hamburg University of Applied Sciences. Alexander is the former Head of AI Lab at Lufthansa Industry Solutions, has led multiple digital transformation projects based on artificial intelligence saving multiple millions annually, put a forecasting system into production managing 1.3 million machine-learning models, and built up a 13-headed competence center for artificial intelligence for Lufthansa Technik. His main goals are increasing customer satisfaction and sustainability by utilizing new possibilities from the world of artificial intelligence and bringing knowledge about artificial intelligence to the people.
