As one of the founders of the Data Science Lab at kpn, Gianluigi has started up and is leading the application of Machine Learning and NLP to several use cases in the Telco domain, mainly in customer services and customer intent recognition areas.
He fosters collaboration with Universities and other Companies active in ML through active participation to research consortia,  supervision of PhD and MT students, his executive role within the kpn-JADS ICAI Lab for Responsible AI and the organization of Text Analytics Meetups together with Amsterdam Data Science.
He holds a MSc 'cum laude' in Physics from University of Rome ""La Sapienza"".
