Giulio Biroli is professor of theoretical physics at ENS Paris. He is PI of the Simons collaboration « Cracking the glass problem » and holds a PRAIRIE chair on interdisciplinary applications of Machine Learning. He is the director of the CFM-ENS Data Science Chair. He is the director of the Beg Rohu summer school of statistical physics and condensed matter. For his work on glass and jamming transition he received in 2007 the Young Scientist Award (the junior Boltzmann medal) of the International Union of Pure and Applied Physics and in 2018 the prix d’Aumale. Biroli has published over 120 peer-reviewed articles. His research focuses on statistical physics, theoretical condensed matter, theoretical physics and interdisciplinary applications of physics to machine learning and biology.
