Matthew Dixon is an Assistant Professor of Applied Mathematics and Finance at Illinois Tech. He holds a PhD in Applied Mathematics from Imperial College and has held visiting research appointments at Stanford and UC Davis. He has also held quant positions at investment banks and consults for financial institutions. His research on machine learning has been funded by Intel, Dell, NASA JPL, and the NSF. He received the buy-side Quant of the Year Award in 2022 and is the co-author of Machine Learning in Finance: from Theory to Practice.
