My career spans across both medicine and informatics: After receiving an M.D. degree at the University of Zurich, Switzerland, I obtained a Ph.D. in biomedical informatics at Columbia University in New York. I then joined Yale University School of Medicine where I led a research team working on Big Data projects in genetics. Back in Zurich (since 2018), I established a group in medical informatics with a particular focus on clinical data science and translational bioinformatics.
