Sebastian Doerr is an Economist in the Innovation and the Digital Economy unit at the Bank for International Settlements (BIS). He holds a PhD in economics from the University of Zurich. At the BIS, he regularly contributes to policy notes and publications on innovation in the financial sector and its consequences for financial stability, credit supply and consumer welfare. His research has been published in leading academic journals, such as the Journal of Finance, Journal of Financial Economics and Review of Finance. In 2019, he was awarded the European Economic Association's "Young Economist Award".
