The performance of manufacturing plants depends on the availability, productivity, and output quality of the involved machines and processes. Model-based control and optimization solutions hold the potential to improve all these aspects and increase manufacturing efficiency. In this talk we will concentrate on how machine learning models can be paired with industrial control and optimization solutions and what will be needed to make these solutions lasting successes – which is still an outstanding challenge today.
