Richard studied computer science at RWTH Aachen University where he received his diploma and PhD degrees. Since 2008, Richard has been a research scientist at Google where he has worked on Google Translate and Docs Explore among other things. Richard is interested in machine learning and natural language processing. He is one of the original authors of the popular Moses machine translation toolkit.
