AI and the robots they fuel can be scary. This "technophobia" often comprises tangible fears of losing one's job, but also less tangible fears, because humanoids increasingly–and disturbingly–look like humans. But, beyond these external humanizing cues, robots are increasingly mastering soft skills thought to be exclusively human (e.g., humor). Although soft skills reduce peoples' fears of AI/robots, they also facilitate AI/robots in leadership roles that were not thought possible. So, beyond the digital managers who take on rote, routine, and repetitive tasks, are we ready for digital leaders?
