We’re inviting researchers and domain experts interested in organizing and chairing a conference track at AMLD EPFL 2022 to submit their proposals. Conference tracks will take place during the weekdays of the AMLD EPFL 2022 main conference, Monday to Wednesday March 28-30, 2022, at EPFL, Switzerland. Multiple parallel tracks will run at the same time, allowing participants to choose and follow sessions relevant to their interests.
AMLD conference tracks are ‘traditional’ tracks with invited talks, speaker presentations, lectures, panel discussions, etc. Tracks should either be thematically focussed on applications of machine learning and artificial intelligence in a specific domain, or focus on subjects relevant for deep tech applications. We accept applications from a broad range of areas, including but not limited to, technology, the natural sciences, economics, politics, social sciences, and others.
There are multiple possible track durations: 2 hours, 4 hours (half-day), 6 hours or 8 hours (full-day).
Track organizers have several responsibilities, including coordinating track content, finding and inviting speakers, providing and promoting the program, as well as moderating the sessions throughout their track. We encourage half- and full-day track organizers to allocate some time to speakers from an open call for talks (call will be coordinated by AMLD for all participating tracks). Organizers participating in this open call are required to review applications to their tracks.
- Conference tracks should provide an informal and cutting edge discussion around inspiring work, interesting research or innovative products and services related to machine learning and its applications.
- Conference tracks should bring together people with common interests, help foster the exchange of ideas, and contribute to building a community around specific applications of machine learning.
- At AMLD, we encourage and expect both quality and diversity in speakers.
- After track selection, the organizers of accepted conference tracks will work with the AMLD organizing team to develop a strong program and invite speakers. We encourage half- and full-day tracks to open your track to outside contributions via a call for talks & speakers.
- The final program and schedule is expected at the end of January 2022.
- February & March 2022: advertising and promoting the conference track within your network and beyond.
The full list of AMLD EPFL 2021 selected tracks can be found on this page. Here is also a folder showing you a few outstanding track call submissions we have received in the past.
Conference track submissions will be reviewed by the AMLD EPFL 2022 academic committee, and rated based on the quality of overall concepts, the speakers, and the relevance to the interested audience. Please make submissions sufficiently detailed for the committee to be able to evaluate your submission accordingly.
If you are looking for a more flexible track format (e.g. a roundtable, project & product launch, deep dive on a specific topic or technology, showcase of in-house projects, exhibition, startup gathering & presentations, meetings, roundtable, catered networking, etc.), please take a look at the ‘open track’ format at AMLD EPFL 2022.
If in doubt, reach out! If you have an idea for a track, but are unsure, please talk to us! Contact us at info@appliedmldays.org.
