Workshop / Overview

If you care about food, no matter if it’s due to ecological, health, social or gourmet reasons, this is the place to be!

At the «Open Food Data Hackdays» diverse food-interested actors, including big data specialists, software engineers, nutrition experts, farmers, app designers, students and entrepreneurs, are united. This potential is combined with publicly available data on the production, movement, consumption and impact of food, in order to enable groundbreaking projects.

During the Hackdays we go through 3 phases:
I) we collect project ideas around Food Data
II) we work in teams on prototypes for 24 hours
III) we select the solution with the biggest potential, which will receive financial (up to CHF 10’000), technical and business support for more than six months!

Program
9:30 am, first day – collecting project ideas and forming teams (40 min)
10:15 am, first day – working in teams on prototypes (24 h)
3:00 pm, second day – selecting the most promising solutions (90 min)

This event is part of the three year program “Business Innovation https://food.opendata.ch” launched by Opendata.ch and Engagement Migros, who aim to support creative, entrepreneurial and scientific projects in the area of food and nutrition data on their way from the first idea to market readiness
