Alexey A. Melnikov received his Ph.D. degree (2018) in physics from the University of Innsbruck, where he worked on physics approaches to machine learning and quantum machine learning. In 2018-2020 he held postdoctoral positions at the University of Innsbruck and the University of Basel, where he worked on AI applications in physics. He has then been a visiting assistant professor with the National Tsing Hua University in Hsinchu. Alexey, together with co-authors, received the Cozzarelli Prize (2019) for the machine learning algorithm that designs new quantum experiments.
Since 2020, Alexey has been with Terra Quantum AG in Rorschach, St. Gallen, where he leads a research team, providing industry advantages with applied quantum machine learning.
