Franz Langmayr holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Vienna. After several years of research he joined a large drivetrain development consultancy. His engineerig focus is on physics of failure in reliabiltiy engineering, he applies a systemic process approach.  In 2010 he founded Uptime Engineering to offer consulting and software for a comprehensive reliability process, which is meanwhile applied to automotive, machinery, railway, wind energy, PV and white goods industries.
